This really depends on your circumstances and whether you are confident enough to go into a gym and follow a plan on your own. If you have a busy lifestyle and find it hard to schedule appointments and like to do things in your own time, then online coaching is best for you.
You can do the workouts at home or in a gym of your choice, whenever you can fit them into your busy week. You are still supported by your trainer via messaging and calls and kept accountable. It is harder to check a client’s form using online coaching, but your trainer can give you advice on techniques and your form and send you videos on how to do various exercises if you need them. I use an app which gives you a video for each exercise and a description of what to do.
However, if you are using face to face sessions then your trainer will be there to give you direction and show you exactly what to do in real time and corrections can be made there and then.
You get more support as an online client as communication with your trainer is generally 24/7. And it is more cost effective than face to face sessions as you gain more support and more sessions for what you pay. You just miss out on the face to face interaction that some people need when going into a gym!
