Been with Lisa for just 6 weeks now and seen a big difference from week one. Not only what’s on the scales or on the tape measure but also mentally too. I’ve started to enjoy working out again and look forward to going each week. I have a definitive plan of what I have to do each week to be where I want to be and am supported by her through it all.
I’ve been having 1-1 PT with Lisa for a few weeks now. I both love and hate every session, Lisa brings great variety every week and has really taught me that you can tailor exercise to what you enjoy (or hate less in my case!). I will never be a fitness freak and Lisa has really had her work cut out with me but I have now found exercises that I like and feel more comfortable not just in our sessions but to go to the gym alone which was a big barrier for me in the past. Not only this, but Lisa is so genuinely lovely, she really cares about making a safe and comfortable environment to exercise in and also tailors plans for home / at your own gym outside of the sessions. If you want a genuine, non-judgemental and not-a-poser PT you have to go with Lisa.
What made you start working with a personal trainer?
‘I wasn’t confident I knew where to start. I had a lot of pain in my shoulders and back and knew this was down to my lifestyle and years of sitting at a desk. I needed help to understand what I should be doing to help myself.’
How are you finding it?
‘Working with Lisa makes me accountable so if I have a session booked in I make sure I go and get some other sessions in through the week. If I wasn’t working with a PT then I would make excuses not to go. Lisa has helped me to build my confidence in the gym.
My sessions with my PT keep me motivated. I don’t need to think about what I need to do I just do as I’m told and always feel like I’ve worked hard and achieved something.’
What impact has your sessions with Lisa had on your mental and physical health?
‘My physical health has certainly improved since working with Lisa and I no longer have pain in my shoulders and back and generally feel stronger. My mental health has improved because I’m sleeping better now that the constant nagging pain has gone and I feel better able to cope with daily stresses.’
